the Canine in us
The Canine in us.
What dogs do to us humans I’m not in the habit of calling anyone
darling or even worse sweetheart. It was a friend of mine who
pointed out that these were names I used on my dog never using
her proper name which was Bambi.. what a silly name but I thought
nothing calling her darling loudly in a busy town.
Dogs are not like us, the live along side, eat our food but they don’t
understand what’s going on, not because they are stupid – tat too-
but their world experience is different.
Dogs find us human endlessly fascinating, think we lost the plot
long ago and walk confused through the world.
The only thing that keep dogs from not putting us in place is
that we are expert at being evil, an emotion foreign to canines.
So they do as told when we train them, although it makes no sense
For a dog to sit and give a paw.
A dog thinks its owner is stupid and when they get to adulthood
take on the role as a protector and when it barks at someone
walk passed our window it thinks it has saved our lives.
Dog and humans deserves each other as they are equally daft,
who on earth would call a dog Bambi?
